Van Patten named Regional Manager

Amie Van Patten

The Keota Eagle, News Review and New Sharon Sun are pleased to announce that Amie Van Patten, Regional Editor for The Keota Eagle, has been promoted to the position of Regional Manager with Mid-America Publishing, the owner of all three publications.

"I am excited to move forward in my career with Mid-America Publishing," Van Patten said. "As manager, I look forward to reaching out to our current and new advertisers while maintaining our coverage with all three papers in Keokuk and Mahaska Counties."

Van Patten was selected among several qualified candidates for the position during interviews in January and will transition into her new duties over the next week. Those duties will include selling advertisements throughout the wide coverage area of the three papers, tracking inventory and overseeing the staff of all three papers.

While she does not wish to re-write the book for any of the paper, Van Patten does wish to continue momentum she has seen from the paper in the last two years in terms of coverage.

"Amber has done a wonderful job getting The News-Review where it needs to be and I want to make sure we continue to focus on staying a small town, small community paper," Van Patten said. "We will continue to focus on things that matter to people around our communities."

An area Van Patten hopes to improve on is making residents in Keokuk and Mahaska Counties more aware of the services The Sun, The News-Review and The Keota Eagle are able to provide, including custom print, business cards, copies and stationary items. Reaching out to new businesses while maintaining ties to our current customers is also a big goal for Van Patten and staff.

"We are excited that Amie has agreed to accept this promotion to regional manager and marketing consultant," Ryan Harvey, President and CEO of Mid-America Publishing said. "Amie's hard work and dedication to the company, coupled with her strong relationship with the community makes her a perfect match."

Van Patten lives in What Cheer with her husband Danny and has three children; Nikayla, Taylor and Daman. She previously worked as an Associate at Tri-County Community School District and currently co-owns Neighbors Gas and Grill in Delta with her husband and parents Tracy and Mark Hammes. In her limited free time, Van Patten enjoys attending her kids' sporting events, cheering on the Hawkeyes and teasing her co-workers about their Cyclones.
